Perché sono necessarie diverse strategie di lettura? Perché si legge con scopi diversi (studio, svago, necessità di cercare informazioni…).

In questo articolo, nel fornire consigli sulla lettura, applicherò il mio metodo, basato sullo studio in modo efficace risparmiando fatica e tempo, per dedicarsi alle proprie attività preferite, e fornirò dei consigli perché il testo diventi una potenzialità da usare nel modo migliore.

Esistono tre differenti strategie di lettura:

Vediamole in dettaglio:

La lettura veloce, della lepre, avendo come finalità la comprensione generale del testo, richiede buona concentrazione, unita ad un corretto movimento degli occhi, diretto ad acquisire velocità. Se, mentre leggi, hai ancora l’abitudine di tenere il segno con il dito adesso avrai l’occasione di migliorare la tua tecnica, muovendo soltanto gli occhi, senza fermarti sulle parole allo stesso modo. La lettura deve essere silenziosa, in cui non sei obbligato a scandire parola per parola, favorendo la concentrazione, la comprensione e la rapidità. Occhio e mente sono più rapidi della voce.

La lettura analitica, della tartaruga, avendo la finalità di comprendere il testo in modo approfondito deve essere lenta ed accurata. La lettura può essere silenziosa oppure no. Durante la lettura di un testo è importante soffermarsi sul significato delle parole, sul contesto, sulla ricerca delle parole chiave e sull’elaborazione di uno schema.

La lettura selettiva, della rana, richiede una lettura veloce del testo ed una elevata attenzione agli elementi grafici (simboli, riquadri, parole evidenziate) che aiutano ad orientarsi e a saltare tutto ciò che è estraneo a ciò che si cerca. Per cercare un’espressione particolare in un testo devi fissartela bene nella mente e scorrere il testo a zig zag, alla sua ricerca.

E’ possibile, comunque, leggere uno stesso brano in parte come lepre, in parte come tartaruga, in parte come rana.

Concludendo: per affrontare il significato di un testo senza approfondirlo troppo è sufficiente una scorsa rapida, cioè una lettura veloce; quando, invece, vuoi capire bene e memorizzare delle informazioni importanti devi leggere più lentamente, facendo bene attenzione a quello che leggi. Può anche capitare che non tutto ti interessi e, se devi fare una ricerca veloce di un argomento particolare, puoi tranquillamente saltare delle parti.
